Houses for Rent in Bangkapi and MinburiBangkapi and Minburi in suburban Bangkok are along the eastern ring road, about 30-40 minutes from the central business district. Bangkapi and Minburi also have the quickest access to the new Suvarnabhumi International Airport, and the Chonburi Motorway to the eastern seaboard. The environment of Bangkapi and Minburi is mainly residential neighborhoods. This was originally the main affluent suburban region of Bangkok in the mid-1980s, and it has continued to grow with new housing estates sprouting up. Some of Bangkok's most reputable international schools with foreign students have established themselves in Bangkapi and Minburi, such as Ruamrudee International School (RIS) which has its Swiss German Section, as well as Redeemer, Bromsgrove, and others. There are large modern shopping malls in Bangkapi and Minburi, plenty of superstores, grocery stores, restaurants, and ecclectic shops. Bangkapi and Minburi give quick access to industrial estates in Lad Krabang, Ram Indra aka Raminthra, and towards Chachoengsao. The most popular neighborhoods are along Sukhaphiban 3 Road and RamIndra Rd, but there are some others scattered around. You cannot see these neighborhoods from the main road, and need to know which roads to turn down. They are located a ways down quiet sois. Sukhaphiban 3 Road is an extension of Ramkhamhaeng Rd. so the sois are called "Ramkhamhaeng" on Sukhaphiban 3 Rd. Sukhaphiban 2 Road is an extension of Lad Prao Rd. and is also called Seri Thai Rd. Both change names as they cross Sri Nakharin Road. There are some older homes and condominiums on Lad Prao and Sukhaphiban 1 Road. Be careful about these road names because there are many roads in Bangkok called Sukhaphiban so you want to make sure to go to the ones in Bangkapi and Minburi. The large shopping mall The Mall Bangkapi is located on Lad Prao Road shortly before Sri Nakharin Rd. Right next door is a small computer/IT shopping center called Tawanna. The large shopping mall Fashion Island is located on the corner of Ram Indra Rd. and the eastern ring road. However, when I lived in that region for many years, I went to the various Tops Supermarkets, Foodland, and other regional grocery stores. There are lots of good restaurants and shops up there which are not associated with any mall, and of course there are plenty of superstores such as Tesco Lotus, Big C, Carrefour, and Home Pro. The Thailand Guru website covers houses in Bangkapi and Minburi and includes good maps for orientation.
